April 13 Whitetail Photos

It's been over two weeks since our last set of pictures. The weather has been wet and cold, keeping us from getting started in our food plot endeavors which keeps us from checking our cameras. We should be working in our food plots, but the ground us much too soggy so we're falling behind.

Our last antlered buck has finally dropped his antlers. We have pictures of him with both antlers on April 1, a picture of him at about 2 AM on April 2 with only one antler and then pictures of him later that day with both antlers gone.

There are just the slightest signs that the bucks have started growing their next set of antlers. By the end of this month we should start to see the older bucks with much more antler growth. The great acorn crop looks like it has left the deer in excellent health so we expect to see really good antler growth this year.

Once again, We didn't get any fox, coyote, bear or bobcat pictures this week so check back next time.

This weeks pictures were taken with our Penns Woods DS-07, Swamp Ghost, EagleEye and StalkerCam.

Five point buck
One of our last pictures of the five point buck. Snow isn't what I like to see at this time of the year. EagleEye

Shed antler buck
Here is the same buck on April 2. Once the blood is gone we won't be able to identify this buck. StalkerCam

Turkey gobblers
Turkey season starts in a couple of weeks and the gobblers are strutting. EagleEye

Young whitetail buck
This is the buck with the biggest antler so far, but he looks like a young one so the older bucks will soon pass him up. Swamp Ghost

Deer flash photo
With more than one camera in the same location we sometimes get interesting pictures like this one. Penns Woods

Buck with a bad eye
With one bad eye, we can keep track of this buck. He may be our oldest buck so it will be interesting watching him grow this year. StalkerCam
