August 28 Whitetail Pictures

Over two weeks since our last set of pictures and we have a young eight point that shed its velvet already. We've seen bucks shed their velvet in late August before but it is not common. Most shed in early September so the rest should shed soon. I have pictures of this buck the day before he showed up with clean antlers but he showed no sign of shedding his velvet. He seems to have cleaned his antlers of velvet rather quickly.

We have two nine points and a nice eight point. One of the nine point bucks has small split brow tine so we could call him a ten point. When I look back at our deer pictures from a few years ago these bucks look real nice, but they still aren't the quality of the ten point from last year. Sometimes a big buck harvested can make others look small.

We caught one coyote on camera, but it isn't the best picture. This coyote showed up walking past one of our mineral licks.

We also got a bobcat this time in the distance from one of our cameras watching a feeder. Like the coyote the bobcat is a little far off to add to the bobcat pictures page.

This weeks pictures were taken with our Trail Watcher 2040, StalkeCam, EagleEye, Trail Watcher 2060 and Treebark Cameras 4.1.

Eight point buck
Here is a close picture of our biggest eight point buck. Last year this buck was the boss after the big ten point was gone so I expect he will rule the roost again this year. EagleEye

Nine point buck
I think this nine point is larger than the other one. Trail Watcher 2060

9 point buck
Here is the other nine point buck, is he smaller than the other nine? Treebark Cameras 4.1

Six point buck
These six point bucks are the smallest bucks we are getting with our cameras. Treebark Cameras 4.1

Two whitetail bucks
The smaller nine and the eight point together. I think the big eight will only tolerate the nine point for a few more weeks, but I see them together a lot now. Treebark Cameras 4.1

First buck to shed velvet
Our first buck with shed velvet this year. Pictures of him hours before didn't show any signs of shedding. Treebark Cameras 4.1
