Cabelas Bargain Cave

Anyone who has looked at the Cabelas website or perused their catalog has probably noticed that they have opened a new store in Wheeling, West Virginia. Fortunate I live about a half hour drive from this new store and I work only about three miles from it. This has given me the opportunity to visit the store a couple of times since it opened on August 12.

The beauty of the animal displays is beyond my abilities to describe, especially the whitetail museum. For a whitetail deer hunting fanatic it is inspiring.

Once I got past gawking like a little kid at the sights I began to start looking at the products offered. Of course it is not possible to display everything in a store that is available from the catalog or on-line catalog but there is definitely a lot there.

The area that piqued my interest was the Bargain Cave. The Bargain Cave was in the back of the store and was a beehive of activity on opening day. A couple of days later I finally ventured in and liked what I found. It appeared that any slightly damaged or partially opened product had been placed there with greatly reduced prices. I purchased two items, a package of broadheads and a bag of seed. The package of broadheads had been partially opened and taped back shut but nothing was missing. I saved about 30 percent on this purchase. The bag of seed had a hole in it and was repackaged in a clear bag. In comparison with the new bags it did not appear to have lost much of the seed contents if any at all. I saved approximately 50 percent on this product.

Needless to say I will visit the Bargain Cave each time I go to Cabelas.

If you are not fortunate enough to live within driving distance of a Cabelas you can still get good bargains at the Bargain Cave section on the Cabelas website. As I write this the website indicates that there are over 9000 items at savings up to 60 percent currently available. It’s well worth the look.
