When I helped my son sight in his bow this year after adjusting the draw length and weight I noticed how much easier I could see his fiber optic sight pins than my old painted sight pins. Even though I was still able to shoot well with the painted sight pins on my old Cobra I thought that it was time to step up a little and get a sight with fiber optic pins. I had a certain amount of money budgeted for hunting supplies this year a list of things that we needed so I wanted to find a new compound bow sight that would fit both my budget and needs. I wanted a good sturdy aluminum sight that had at least four fiber optic sight pins. I generally set my pins every 10 yards but will not take a shot over 30 yards, but the 40 yard pin is fun to shoot. When you take a couple of practice shots at 40 yards it makes 30 yards look closer and 20 yards look like a chip shot. After perusing the catalogs and the compound bow sight aisle at Cabela’s I selected the C4 made by Copper John. As you probably all know there are several sights on the market today that fit my criteria with prices up to well over $100. At $39.99 the C4 by Copper John was the most economical that fit all of my needs. The sight was easy to install and I was shooting in no time. The only problem I had with the sight is that the horizontal adjustment just barely allows it to be used on my old bow. I’m not sure if this is due to a limited adjustment range for this sight or if this is just due to my bow being so old. I could have added something to shim the sight over a little more but it is sturdy as is and wasn’t necessary. Even with this small problem the sight is working just fine and I find that my shooting errors are still the major factor in my ability to hit the target. The fiber optic pins are definitely a plus. I can no longer blame poor shots on not being able to see the sight pins clearly. I’ll have to come up with another excuse this year. You can purchase a C4 compound bow sight by Copper John and take a look at many more sights with varying prices and features here at Cabela's.
