December 28th Whitetail Deer Photographs

Our last set of pictures for 2006 and we had few surprises.

In some of the past years we've found shed antlers by this time of the year but we've yet to find a shed or see a buck who has shed its antlers in any of our pictures yet. I did see two young bucks that had shed their antlers on Friday morning.

We didn't catch any new bucks this time but we did get a couple of pictures of two bucks pushing each other around. Here it is late December and they still have enough testosterone running through them to put on a little show.

We only had five cameras out this past two weeks but we have a couple more for the next week so we'll try to monitor a couple of other areas and see if we can still pick up another buck wandering around - we're still hopeful.

These pictures were taken with our , Trail Watcher 2040, homemade WhitetailCam and a Woodland SpyCam.

Seven point buck

Here is our regular seven point buck. We're hoping he keeps his unique antler characteristics in a larger set of antlers next year.

Five point buck

Here is our small five point. This week he showed up at the other feeder.

Eight point buck

This is a real nice picture of the wide eight point buck with the nine point buck behind him.

Stretching whitetail deer

I don't think this deer could have stretched out any further to smell that handle.

Nine point whitetail buck

A close look at the nine point. He is a young buck with a nice start. You can see the wide eight point and a four point in the background.

Spike raccoon standoff

A standoff between an overfed raccoon and a spike buck. The spike won.
