February 4th Whitetail Deer Photographs

This album of Whitetail Deer Photographs contains digital scouting camera pictures taken the weeks before February 4, 2006.

We had six digital scouting cameras out for the past three weeks so we had plenty of pictures to choose from. It takes a while to look at them all but you never know exactly what you are going to see.

Finally after several thousand pictures we captured a picture of a bobcat. Now we're waiting to get the first picture of a coyote with our digital scouting cameras.

Our favorite seven point buck is still wearing his antlers and is the only one still doing so. We got one picture of him on the morning we arrived.

While I was setting up one of our cameras I found a shed antler from an 8 point buck. The antler looked like it had been there over a year and looked like is may have been from the buck we have been watching for over two years now. He has become real secretive now that he is older. I'm hoping to get a picture of him again.

These pictures were taken with our Woodland SpyCam and a Penn's Woods Digital Scout, Cuddeback Trail Camera, and EagleEye Trail Camera.

Whitetail deer with snow on its back.

Here is a testament to the insulating capabilities of deer hair. I always think it is amazing when I see them with snow on them like this.

Resting Whitetail Buck

These two bucks have had a morning snack and one is now having a rest. I'm assuming that these are the same two young bucks that stayed around this feeder all fall.

7 point buck

Here is our lone antlered buck. It doesn't seem to matter where we move this bucket feeder this seven point buck finds it.

Seven point whitetail

This is the same seven point buck at one of the other feeders. This close up gives us a real good look at his antlers. Next year his antlers should get some thickness to them. We'll watch him grow up this summer.

Bobcat

Finally, our first bobcat. Our nieghbor has shot a couple and I had wondered why we had never caught one with our digital scouting cameras.

Flying Redbird

There is a deer in this picture but the redbird caught in flight is really neat. It looks like the bird was cut and pasted into this picture, but it wasn't.
