January 12th Deer Photos

We have been away from our cameras for two weeks this time so we had plenty of pictures to look at.

Our last antlered buck showed up on the pictures on January 4th with only half of his rack left. Now that all of the bucks have shed this is the earliest we have seen this occur and have to wonder why it has happened so early this year. If you have any ideas, let me know.

Our neighbor did find one shed antler in the woods about 150 yards from one of our feeders. It was half of an eight point with a small split brow tine. It looked like the wide eight point we had been watching. I thought that it had a small split in its brow tine and this find confirmed it. This should be a decent buck next year.

We got one good coyote picture so check out the coyote picture page soon for this picture.

These pictures were taken with our StalkerCam, Woodland SpyCam and Camtrakker Digital Ranger.

Close up of a deer
It looks like we caught this deer off guard, eyes wide, mouth open and snow on his nose. StalkerCam

Deer antler pedicile
If you ever wondered what the antler pedicile looks like shortly after shedding, here it is. StalkerCam

My deer buddies
I was still setting up the cameras when the feeder spun. This young button buck has grown comfortable with me and will come get a snack while I'm still around. Notice that his sister is in the picture to the right and doesn't trust me as much as her brother. Camtrakker Digital Ranger
