January 13th Whitetail Deer Photos

It's been a warm winter here in West Virginia so far this year so it's getting pretty muddy around our feeders. It's funny seeing the mud on the deer's noses after they've dug the corn out of the mud. Fortunately we can move our feeders around to try to keep putting them on new ground.

We're not getting much activity away from the feeders now. We'll probably focus on the feeders until spring greens up and our food plot work gets started.

So far the larger bucks haven't shed their antlers. It will be interesting to see how long they keep them. It looks like all of the spike bucks except for our miniature spike have lost their spikes. I wonder if this is telling us something.

These pictures were taken with our Woodland SpyCam, homemade WhitetailCam, and EagleEye.

Seven point buck

Here is a side view of our seven point. You can barely see the sticker points on his bases.

Nine point buck close up

Our nine point buck up real close.

Two whitetail bucks

The nine point and eight point bucks. We're looking forward to seeing these two next fall.

Small spike buck

How is this for a trophy spike. I would say a Boone and Crockett score of 2 inches.

Wide racked eight point buck

I really liked this picture. The eight point looks wide with the odd racked four point and a beautiful blue sky behind him.

Four point buck

Here's a four point visiting the deer feeders. You can see the rain drops on the camera. This is inside a two story building but I found the place where the roof leaks and the second floor is missing.
