January 5 Deer Photographs
We still got pictures of five antlered bucks this time, but they seem to be shedding them fast. It will be interesting to see how many still have their antlers on our next set of pictures. We found more shed antlers this week. Ryan found a small one and also a matched set from a small nine point that we got one picture of this week. We also found the left antler from one eye so we now have one eye's two antlers from 2009 and 2010 and the left from 2011. We didn't think it looked like this buck had gained much antler size from last year and the antler we found confirmed this. His left anter from 2011 is only one and three quarters of an inch bigger than his 2010 antler. We'll be looking real close at his antler growth next year. The 2011 antler measured forty eight and a half inches. We got quite a few pictures of the smaller ten point and we know for sure that he still had his antlers on January 3. It'll be interesting to see how long he keeps his antlers. One of the pictures this time is a neat looking five point we watched all fall. Ryan and I aren't sure if this buck is a promising one year old or a dissapointing two year old. This time we didn't get any coyote, bobcat or black bear pictures. Check back next time. This weeks pictures were taken with our Woodland SpyCam, Treebark Cameras 4.1 and Bigfoot Cameras 4.1.
Every once in a while one of the deer take a real close look at one of our cameras. Trail Watcher 2060
We've seen this neat looking five point again and again this year. We're not sure if he is a promising or a dissapointing young buck. Treebark Cameras 4.1
