July 17th Whitetail Deer Photos

At the mid-point of July I think we now have a pretty good idea what our bucks are going to look like this year and we're still hoping that they add a little more mass and tine length. There are a couple that are trying to get their ninth and tenth points so we're waiting to see if they fully develop.

We're still getting our share of raccoons, turkeys and birds along with does and fawns at our feeders but since the bucks are wearing headgear again they'll dominate these pages for a while.

We also had a new visitor to one of our feeders and it's the subject of the extra picture on this weeks page. I'd noticed that one of the supports bars on the feeder was bent last week and now I know why.

These pictures were taken with our Trail Watcher 2060, Trail Watcher 2040, Woodland SpyCam, Camtrakker Digital Ranger and Cuddeback Expert.

Wide rack eight point buck
This is our widest eight point buck in one of our food plots. He looks like he may get a ninth point but it hasn't completely developed yet.

High racked seven point buck
We're calling the buck in the background the high racked seven point. This is the only one of the larger bucks that I've actually seen so far.

A young seven point buck visiting a mineral lick.

Eight point buck
This is the buck with the sticker points coming off of his bases. He's growing into a pretty nice buck.

8 point buck
We're thinking that this buck may be the small nine point from last year. He may be getting a ninth and tenth point but we'll have to wait and see.

Buck in morning skyline
We don't want to get too touchy feely on all of you here, but this early morning skyline was too pretty to pass up. There's a young buck in the picture as well.

Black bear
Our first black bear.
