May 29th Whitetail Deer Pictures

This album of Whitetail Deer Pictures contains digital scouting camera pictures taken in the weeks before May 29, 2005. The whitetail bucks are now growing their antlers. This gives us renewed interest in looking at our pictures each time we get to our cameras. We may be able to identify some of the bucks soon if they carry similar antler characteristics. We already have some guesses for a couple of the bucks that we got pictures of this week.

We had about 794 pictures to look at this time. It takes a lot of time just looking through them all.

We should be seeing pictures of spotted fawns real soon, maybe next time. We did see one fawn with a doe but we didn't get pictures of any this time.

Young Whitetail Buck

This is a nice picture of a young whitetail buck. He's probably not going to be a trophy but we'll try to let him grow up. The setting sun in the background is real pretty.

Whitetail Deer

I liked this picture of a deer sniffing the handle that lifts the feeder up. I've been blaming the raccoons for stealing our corn, do you suppose the deer are just lowering the feeder down and helping themselves?

Turkey flapping it's wings.

I don't know if this turkey was just flapping his wings or getting ready to take off.

Young Whitetail Buck taking a drink.

I'm not sure what this young buck is up to here. He may be licking water out of this mud puddle. He also looks like he is still a little way from starting to grow antlers. They look like maybe they were not shed until late.

Whitetail bucks and turkeys.

This is a picture of one of the best bucks that we have pictures of so far. We believe he may be a deer that was a 9 point last year. The other two deer in the picture are bucks as well.

Another raccoon pest.

This is the very top of a raccoon's head. He later climbed right over the top of the camera and tilted the camera. The camera was tilted about 45 degrees and the lens was dirty for the remainder of the pictures on the memory card.
