May 5th Deer Pictures
Once again this week the mineral licks were the spots of high deer activity so we'll continue to watch them close over the coming weeks. The buck's antlers are getting started. We are seeing a couple of inches of growth and it looks like the brow tines may be starting to split off and grow. It is hard at this point to differentiate one buck from another, but we'll be looking for sticker points to start off of the front of one of these bucks. The neighborhood black bear showed up again in late April visiting both feeders and stopping for pictures at both mineral licks. Make sure you check out those pictures. It is still turkey season and the gobblers are strutting their stuff. My father-in-law called one pretty close but not quite close enough on our last visit. The gobbler was hanging around one of our food plots. These pictures were taken with our Reconyx RC55, Trail Watcher 2040, EagleEye, Trail Watcher 2035 and Camtrakker Digital Ranger.
Here is our turkey season gobbler picture for this week. EagleEye
This is one of our largest bucks. Reconyx RC55
This is one upset deer. There should be plenty of room at this mineral lick for two deer. Trail Watcher 2035
This buck gave us a real nice close-up picture. Trail Watcher 2040
One of our largest antlered buck so far at a mineral lick. Hopefully he'll put those minerals to good use in those antlers. Camtrakker
Another buck at the same mineral lick. Who knows if it is the same buck as the previous one. Camtrakker
