September 12th Deer PhotosSince we put our cameras back out on Labor Day we had a short four day week, but the pictures did not disappoint us. Last week I thought that most of the bucks would shed their velvet this week and the pictures have proven this to be true. There are still a couple of bucks that still have velvet, but most of them are not in hard antler. The wide ten point shed his velvet later on Labor Day and the tall ten lost his some time during the week as well. There are still a couple of eight pointers that are still in velvet, we'll see what they look like next week. I also saw the first rubs of the year. A couple of them are pretty nice rubs and were easy to spot. I also found what looked like an early scrape so I put a camera on it to see what happens. We didn't get any coyote or bobcat pictures this week so check back next week.
