September 22nd Whitetail Deer Photographs

Our digital game cameras have shown us that most of the bucks have now shed their velvet but I still saw a spike in velvet on the 22nd under our apple trees.

We got a couple of pictures of bucks this week that we don't recognize as regulars. Hopefully they will stick around. On the other hand we haven't seen a lot of buck movement from our regulars but the small nine point did show up some distance from where we regularly see him.

I saw a rub for the first time this week although my son saw one last Saurday. Neither trees were as big as telephone poles but it's always fun to see that first rub of the season.

I put up three treestands this week. Although some states have opened their seasons already we have to wait until October 14th here in West Virginia so I got a little jump on things.

These pictures were taken with our Woodland SpyCam, and an EagleEye.

9 point buck

Here is our best nine point buck. We got some pictures a lot closer but we liked this one from a rainy night.

8 Point Buck

We're not sure if we've seen this eight point buck before. He just showed up in one picture and looks like he has a funny looking tan spot on his right jaw.

Seven point buck

This seven point was with the eight point shown in the previous picture. We don't think we've seen this buck before either.

Eight point buck

This is the larger eight point buck who has now shed his velvet,

Nine point buck

This looks like the smaller nine point buck that we had been seeing in a couple of our other food plots.

5 point buck

Here is a five point in one of our cleaned out turnip patches.
