September 29th Whitetail Deer Photos

We're getting to the time of year when it's exciting to get our cameras each week and see what we've got. The bucks are starting to move a little more and were seeing them in places that we hadn't seen them all summer.

We finally got two pictures of the buck whose antler we found in our hayfield last winter, but the pictures were not good enough to include on this page. This buck seems to have a different personality than most. We got pictures of him in the background of our bucket feeder that we move around. This area is not far from a food plot where we have had a digital trail camera since early spring. We're thinking that our property is on the fringe of this bucks territory, but it's also interesting that he did not come into the feeder when he was close. We've again moved this feeder so we don't expect to see this deer this week.

Moving our bucket feeder around has been interesting this year. Sometimes this small feeder that doesn't put out much corn draws much better than our regular feeders and it did just that this past week.

We found a few scrapes this weekend including one that we got a few pictures at last year. We set up a camera on it and hope to see what is visiting this scrape this year. We got at least one unique visitor here last year.

This week produced a few buck fighting pictures, one of which is included below. Most did not seem serious since the combatants were seen in following pictures eating together. It has been interesting to note that most of the fights that we get pictures of are in food plots rather than around the feeders.

These pictures were taken with our Trail Watcher 2040, Trail Watcher 2035, Trail Watcher 2060 and Camtrakker Digital Ranger.

The ten point buck at our roving feeder.

Eight point buck
This is the first time we've captured a picture of this eight point buck.

Nine point buck
This wide nine point buck shows up in a lot of places.

Eight point buck
This eight point buck was a regular at the PVC feeder we had in the hayfield a few weeks ago. He had disappeared until this week.

Close rack eight point buck
We have pictures of this eight point buck on the far ends of our property.

Seven point buck
Here is the tall racked seven point buck at one of our feeders. Once again he seemed to rule the roost at this feeder.

Whitetail bucks fighting
This is the nine point that has sticker points in a brief match with a smaller buck. They're both eating in the next two pictures.
