Tennessee Four Pointer

by Jody Dalton
(Morristown, Tennessee)

Four Point Buck

Four Point Buck

It was opening morning of the gun hunt. I had been sitting in my tree stand since 6:15. It was now 11:30 without even a doe and I was about to throw in the towel.
Until I heard (another squirrel coming down the ridge). I first noticed the back half of the deer and thought... well, at least I got to see a doe. Then all of a sudden I saw this rack arise from above a bush. He was slowly....and I mean slowly coming my direction. 32 minutes and about 40 yards later he entered a small clearing. You know the rest. I would like to give a special thanks to my brother Troy for letting me hunt on his land. You'll get one soon bro.

Weapon: Marlin 30-30
Ammo: Hornady LeveRevolution

Deer: 110 lbs field dressed
Spread: 14.5
Main Beam: 16.25
Age: 2.5 yrs - (yeah, I know...only a 4 pointer)
