WEST VIRGINIA ELEVEN POINT

Well, not much of a story but here goes! I have spent the last three years of hunting season in Tyler County with a friend of mine. We are still learning the land and the way the deer travel it. We both love to hunt whitetail and can pretty much just look around and figure out where deer travel and find an advantage point or several trails that meet in one area. In rifle season you don't have to be perfect as you can cover several hundred yards. I had seen several nice bucks in this area in previous years, so I had high hopes this year. We generally do not shoot just any buck we try to somewhat manage the deer in this area, anyway I chose to set up my blind in the same location as last year. It proved to be the right choice! I shot this deer at about 7:30 in the morning the first day and it is my biggest thus far. He had his head down to the ground (I assume he was tracking a doe) and would not stop so I was very fortunate to take him because he was about 250 yards away. We plan to make time this year to make some food plots and continue to manage the herd, which is why I found this site to begin with and I must say I am impressed with what I have read so far! Well, hope you enjoy the pic and good luck to all who seek that trophy buck!
