Wildview Picture Quality

I gave the Wildveiw a D- for picture quality. I've decided to save an F for a scouting camera that doesn't take any pictures at all.

The biggest problem in picture quality is with the pictures taken at night. The flash is poor so the animals must be real close. When I put the Wildview on the trees that I put all of the other cameras on, the flash would not light up the animal. I had to move it much closer. Now that I'm using the digital game cameras to monitor food plots I'm getting a lot of black pictures. The Flash is not strong enough to reach out and illuminate the deer. You can't see any animal at all in about half of the pictures taken at night.

The deer in these two pictures are not very far away from the scouting camera. They were taken after I found out that the camera had to be real close.

The other problem is that the highest quality setting is VGA. This doesn't provide enough detail for blowing pictures up to see anything up close. This can be real frustrating when you want to take a closer look at a buck's antlers or at a deer in the background.

This is one of the best pictures that we have seen from our Wildview.

The pictures also often have a slight off color tint to them and are not crisp and clear.

You can see the blue off color tint to this picture.

The poor picture quality makes this a difficult camera to use. To get decent nighttime pictures the unit needs to be real close. Although I like to get good close pictures sometimes the deer are so close part of the deer is missing.
